Question about flag hanging...

I recently got an awesome swallowtail party flag with 2 string ties at the upper corners. I don't of course want to hang it by that because it sags in the middle, and I don't want to stretch it.

The gent I got it from suggested a quilt hanger? He said it was like 2 slats of wood that pinched the edge of the flag and held it level and even. However I can find nothing here locally about them.

Is there anything anyone has made before that worked well and kept the flag in good condition for display hanging? I'm almost ready to get 2 solid wood 2X2s and line the inside with felt, put 2 carriage bolts through for tension squeeze and mount it on the wall - just clipping the edge between the felt lined wood.

Would that work? Is there something better? Any help would be great.

Sounds like an interesting flag, would love to see a photo.
Regarding display, end strings should tie easy to a dowel,
& center could be held up with a simple office note push pin
or clamp. Anything else IMO is maybe going a bit overboard.

I have found a great way to hang a flag anywhere.
First go and get some 3M hooks.
You can stick them on any wall anywhere.
And they come off without damaging the wall.
Use as many as you think you need to support the flag.
They come in white or clear. The clear would probably be the best.

Then get some of the paper clamps.

Once you clamp the number of clamps needed to the flag, remove one side
of the silver parts of the clamp (this will be the part facing the front of the flag).
Then just take the other silver part and hang it on the corresponding hook.
And there are different size hooks and clamps, so you might need to find the
right ones depending on the weight of the flag.
And there you go. The flag will be supported evenly and it won't permanently
damage the flag. And it will only cost you a few bucks.

Here's the flag I'm hanging. It's very pristine, and a great display size (approx. 57 inches from top to the bottom of tail) and I don't want to do a thing that would hurt it. Push pins I feel after time would separate the threads and ultimately make a hole just due to the small surface area support.











It has coin sized weights sewn into the bottom of the tails, so there's no need for any support there, but this is the reason for the need of consistent support across the top, rather than ties and a tack in the middle. It's not
stretched, and the roundel is perfectly round so I'd like to keep it that way.

The clamps are a good idea, but if anyone has anything else I'd love to hear.

I use paper clamps also and they work very well. I think they would be a good fit for this flag.
