I can't remember where I found the photo... maybe it was posted in this forum some time ago. Credits to whom it belongs

Looks like Mrs. H. (Wittmann-)Helmke's table cloth !

In "Himmlers Krieger: Joachim Peiper und die Junkerschulgeneration der Waffen-SS" Westemeier says about Wisch that he was engaged in street brawls in the early 30s and in 1932 was sentenced to many years in jail ("langjährig") but was amnestied after serving six months. No source for this information is given and it's the only time I found reference to this. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I have some doubts because of the lack of source and because this is from Westemeier's 2013 book which can be read as his personal revenge on Peiper.

(I tried searching for related keywords and nothing turned up so please excuse me if it was mentioned before)

This information is correct. Jens W. received the source from me. If I recall correctly it's Spruchgericht, 13. Spruchkammer, AZ: 9 Sp.Ls. 136/48 - 13/37, Sitzung vom 8. März 1948.

The documents were part of the Wisch estate.

My book on Wisch is purely based on sources (mentioning them always) and I strictly avoid falling into personal judgement. At least that is what I strived to do.

        Cheers,
        Markus

Thank you very much. Too bad he didn't include a reference to your work or the file.

So can I read more about this in your book or see the document itself? I'm curious if it states what the crime was since several years suggests to me an infliction of grievous bodily harm - or maybe it was more of a symbolic verdict in an attempt to stop the street brawls (hence the amnesty)?

You can send me a PM with an email address, stating the reason for your interest and then I could have scans sent to you. I'm almost off to Washington D.C. now...
