I'm almost off now to Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC) in Star City for space flight training.
I thought I'd share some of my side collection.
Russian Air Force Colonel (ret.) and Hero of the Russian Federation, Sergey Zalyotin's SOKOL KV-2 space suit.
The suit shown here consists of 4 elements all flown to space and back, all properly documented via flight manifest,
, serial numbers, photos, affidavit from Col. Zalyotin:
1) Main Pressure Suit:
Flight: MIR TM-30 / EO-28, worn by Sergey Z. on his historic, last flight to space station MIR. (April 4, 2000 - June 15, 2000) It was the world's first privately funded space mission ("MirCorp")
2) Sokol Pressure Gloves:
Sergey's 2nd space flight Soyuz TMA-1 / TM-34 to the International Space Station "ISS," Oct./Nov. 2002. Gloves are signed and stamped with mission and ISS stamps.
3) Communication's helmet (Snoopy Cap)
Worn on Soyuz TMA-1 / TM-30 Taxi flight to "ISS" together with ESA astronaut. Signed by Sergey and Mission onboard handstamps.
4) Sokol Arm Mirror:
From flight archive of Gennady Padalka (Current Record Holder of longest time spent in space, 879 days), worn during his flight Soyuz TM-28 in 1998.
Stamped with MIR onboard handstamp and signed by Gennady)

The original "PENGUIN" bungee suit worn by Col. Yuri Malenchenko, Hero of the Russian Federation, on ISS Expedition 7 in 2003. (First man to marry in space)
It is not a simple flight overall. There is a complex system of bungee cords integrated into the suit which prevents bone- and muscle loss of the wearer's body.
All these space suits usually do not return to earth, but are burned up with trash in the earth's atmosphere. One of the last flown penguines to be returned to earth in 2003.
All properly stamped with ISS on-board hand-stamps.

I'd say it has a different appeal to me. Space travel as an aventure for a select few. Also this stuff is way more rare than most militaria. One of my favorites is a pair of 'Orlan' spacewalk gloves, signed by the Russian (and U.S.!) crew, all stamped, and complete with NASA storage bag. They Flew up in the shuttle and returned by Soyuz spacecraft later. Those heavy spacewalk gloves are not allowed to return to earth since the mid 2000s due to weight restrictions.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to spacewalk training at Star City next week.
