    Wisch congratulating Wittmann.

Unfortuantely Daniel is not willing to sell it...

        Wisch

I know this is like looking for a needle in the haystack, but since years I have been looking and hoping to find this photo of Wisch wearing his smock.

I'd pay "Top Dollar" for this small (60 x 90 mm) shot.

Very nice group. It is nothing but anyway, his "ss dagger": http://test.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vi...Item=149312120

            Wisch's dagger

            Thanks for the post!

            Interesting to see the dagger!

It has been upgraded since 1997 by adding the vertical leather hanger, which was not there when it came from Wisch's estate and later ended in the auction. Makes one wonder again....

Moreover the text mentions that the piece was obtained from the estate of a 82nd airborne vet, when it actually came from Wisch's estate...which is much better in my opinion at least...

Is there a chance the whole dagger can be faked?! I am no dagger collector...

                  Dagger

I had another closer look at the original estate sales catalogue and noticed that the original Wisch dagger was manufactured by "Klaas/Solingen" and not lby "Herder/Solingen", like in this internet auction.

Notice here the original auction catalogue lot description and photo.

Another case of put together fraud...fake the number on a dagger, add an autograph to it and ready...USD 14,500 limit price...

                    Stab LSSAH

Here a photo of my dear friend:

Member of the LAH's divisional staff, who evacuated "Teddy" Wisch from the inferno of the Falaise pocket and consequently rescued his life.

                      Ehrenspange der 1.Kompanie Leibstandarte A.H.

Since this thread is about Th. Wisch, it is consequently also about the 1./LAH - the unit his name will forever be closely connected to - and the 1./LAH's postwar Kameradschaft.

I know that many collectors here will find these extremely boring, but those who were honored and fortunate enough to enter the HIAG's friendship circle and other Truppenkameradschaften will understand the meaning of this and other post-war decorations.

It is the "Ehrenspange der 1.Kompanie" (Honor-clasp of the 1./LAH) given only about 9 times to the Kameradenfrauen (Comrades' wives) for their loyal service and support to the Kompanie-Kameradschaft.

The wives have a special position in the Kameradschaften, as many will know, and not a single meeting used to go by without the men giving a special thanks to their wives for their lifelong support.

                        Award certificate

The "Ehrenspange" was presented along with an award certificate.

Here a blank version for a clasp given on behalf of the Kameradschaft for special merits helping the creation of the book "12 Jahre 1. Kompanie".

Frau Annelie Rudnick received her Ehrenspange on April 24, 1999.

The wives are always present at the meetings.

Your collection of Wisch items and your knowldge of the LAH grows more impressive all the time! I am in awe whenever I see your items and research.

                              Best,

                                Ober-Sepp

                                Thanks Greg for your comments.

I simply like the combination of collecting and research behind the items and more so the individuals.

I promise that there is and will be more to come in the future!

Since I finally found a tool to show photos bigger, instead of shrinking them too much, I felt like posting this one (again), since I enjoy it quite a lot. (Diamonds are a filler)
