    Bayonet display ideas

I have a small but growing group of K98 bayonets numbering 24 today.

Could members please show some ways and ideas of how you display your bayonets as well as other TR blades? Daggers and dress bayonets are on shelves in an antique display case but the bayos are in the safe. Would sure like to see how others are displaying theirs.

    Thanks in advance.

    Nothing anyone wants to show?

All those bayonets just sitting in boxes?

I have always like the little lucite displays that you can get from Bill Shea for daggers/bayonets. I don't have any of mine up on display as I am packing my stuff up slowly for a large move. That said check out his site and you will see some nice stands, I like them quite a bit.

Or my preferred go to guy is Skipper Greenwade, www.skippergreenwade.com and he can churn out about anything your hear desires for a display case. He does custom dagger stands ect, I may have a project coming his way soon for some of my long dress bayos. Matt

A search through old threads in the collections forum should provide
        all sorts of ideas.

When I was like ,15 and I made a rack where they all fit in hanging and custom depending on if I wanted frogs or scabbards, some had some didn't, maybe you can see from this old shot....in the lower right area....made out of pine, and stained...but you can use any wood you like and your own design....just another idea...and takes up less room(wall mounted) , but with not being under glass, you'll have to use some kind of dust covers if you don't have air conditioning. You can also make em as close together as you want... my choice for these , were more space...but if they are all 98s, you could pack em in efficiently at a set space apart that works through trial and error, cut em out with a jig saw or some other preferred tool to fit , and still have clearance...and yet save space as you can see above .

Google The kreg jig Model k5 while you are at it , and prior to deciding ... it's a good tool to buy to make fast cases, and racks for items...then its up to your imagination(watch videos)...good luck...and show us what you finally do to solve the problem....remember we grade you on presentation, not just tasteful , or innovative design ideas....just funnin, we don't grade, but we appreciate good workmanship , as we have quite a few master artists who collect, and have applied it to our hobby...This idea for a wall rack...can be made any length, but the kreg pocket hole type 90 degree attachment is very sturdy to hold weight...this must be considered when you put twenty kar 98 bayos in a bag, the weight is substantial, or do it basicly as I did above where it supports from under the shelf (kreg type is a clean 90 degree attachment but super strong, cheaper the other way, but with the jig you can design endless ideas for all sorts of other projects ).
