    Hi Debs,

I would say an EK1 to go with your EK2
    3 grades of wound badge,black,silver,gold
    KVK1/with and without swords
    EK1 and 2 Spanges.
It all depends on which branch of service you want to collect really, but these would be awarded to all.

      Debs,

When I started collecting I went every which way. I was very impulsive, lacked direction, and as a result, got ripped off (a lot). It got to the point I just dropped out completely for a few years. However, I couldn't get rid of the itch and decided to re-think where I went wrong. First, I decided I wanted to learn more and be educated about what I was buying. I started reading the forum frequently and bought a few books. Then I decided to clean up my collection. I began to post anything I felt was questionable. Well, after tossing out about half my collection as junk, I thought about what I wanted to collect. Now, some folks here collect anything 3rd Reich. Some collect all medals 3rd Reich. Then others concentrate on specifics such as Heer, Luftwaffe, Navy, etc.. I finally decided to collect EK's and related awards. I felt for me it would be easier to concentrate on this one area, and I love the EK's. Now, another decision. After I looked at many of the collections posted here, I decided on quality over quantity. My collection has again "shrunk" some. But I feel I am moving up on that quality scale. When I look at a nice EKI, it's nice. But the satisfaction of that same EK in a case is sweeter somehow. Does that make sense? In other words, for me, I would rather have one nice cased EKI than two average ones laying loose. I guess in a nutshell, I'm suggesting that you take a good look at where you're at, and where you would like to end up. Also consider, when you look at the items already in your collection, and items you see here in others collections, what really turns your crank?? What would be really exciting to own??

Just some of my opinions. Hope it helps.

Hi Debs, I would get a EK1 next. That way you will have both grades of the Iron Cross in your collection. Very nice collection by the way, you are off to a great start

Way to go Debs. The KVK family is a nice one, and there are some rare one's out there, not to mention considerably cheaper, One thing you could concentrate on are Cased/ Issue Packets, and MM'd ones.
Personally I am a fan of the KVK, not that I would ever turn down a nice EK of any kind

Hi Debs, I would say, buy what ever comes your way if it's original and the price is right. It gives you nice trading material and you learn along the way. Over time you will get what you want. If I look for a specific item I always end up paying too much, so I learned to be patient. Also your interests might change a little and fall in love with collecting items that you never thought of before. I think you have a good thing going by the looks of your collection

I would of course echo the sentiments of my good friend Panzerman. You can hardly go wrong if you buy EKs from the Estand, and there are still good deals to be had. It all basically depends on what you like to look at. I love EKs, but I don't lock myself into buying just EKs. Example, for Christmas this year, my wife bought me a M1916 SD Transition helmet, and an Arty Lt. Waffenrock. I think both of these items will display well and give my collection that well-rounded feel. So, basically, buy what you like, not what you think you ought to buy because you have somehow committed to some specific field.

                All the best,
                Chris

I dont think I would be able to focus on just one specific area, as I have a varied interest, as you can no doubt see from my collection, as far as medals go Im not interested in luftwaffe or naval awards, and am just slowly working my way up the ladder, and I love photographs, as they can tell a story, once I have bought my Ek I will be focussing on getting cased wound badges, I have a silver maker marked and a black one (not cased) but am yet to get my hands on a gold!! so thats gonna take a while to get them!!

From there I dont know, what I really want is a IAB, PAB, Krim shield etc, but as you guys know the better the medals, the more the price tag, and working for ntl isnt exactly a massive income!!!! so im saving my pennies and keeping one eye glued to the estand!!!

But looking around this forum has already helped me a great deal, so hopefully I will one day have a collection to be proud of!!

                    Collecting

                    Hey everybody,
I just found that I wrote down all the badges I "need" , ones I want some time in the near future, the ones I want when I have enough money, and then even more that I would like, but realize it will take a long time to save up (RK, DKiG, ect) that it really kinda helped me realize what I really like and want in my collection. It kinda seperates the medals and badges that are really cool but not really in my interest. Also I hope it will let me establish some sort of budget! I dunno just thought I would throw my 2 cents in. Good luck finding your "passion," in this great hobby!

                    Kind Regards,
                    Steve

however big or large your collection you will always be proud of it and i think the forum would agree with me there. i know people who only have a few items but they are well cuffed with their pieces which at the end of the day is what as a collector its all about. your collection to date is just fine so you have no worries there
