    collection set up

    Gentlemen,

I need your kind help again !

    my plan is :

    1. to display the CT of "Aufklaerungsgruppe 10" above the "recce clasp" ..

and remove at the same time the Lw eagle !

    2. The displayed "Spanish Cross in silver" will be replaced by the

    "Fliegererinnerungsabzeichen"

    3. Above that badge will be 'earmarkd' two "Frontflugspangen

fighter in gold and night fighter in Gold

    4. Left to the "bomber clasp" I'd like to place a "Schlachtflieger" clasp !

Could anyone suggest a better solution for the display ... keeping in mind

that I'd like to keep the amount of badges shown !

For all infos in the past I am very grateful and would like to thank you

    very much !

    Best regards

    Wolf

    display set up

    Gentlemen,

the objective is to display CTs / pbs and "Frontflugspangen"

    so they "match"

    for example :

CT "Immelmann" should be displayed together with a

"Schlachtflieger" as well as " Bomber" badge group

    "Tannenberg" (Aufklaerungsgruppe 10 - Neuhausen/Koenigsberg) displayed

together with p/o badges and "recce clasp"

CT Moelders/Schlageter/Richthofen/Udet should be allocated to

" Frontflugspange Jaeger / Nachtjaeger " and "top fighter badges" ...

    Thank you very much

    Wolf

      Hi Wolf,

Well first of all a very impressive collection of PB's and CT's, definately shows a real effort of dedication and funds.

It sounds like you know how you want to display badges and CT's together but still looking for input from others.

As much as your display cabinet impresses' me it also screams at me personally that it needs to be humanised. i.e for example I could see a couple of top end Luftwaffe peaked caps perhaps a Luftwaffe presentaion dagger or two. Maybe even some award documents. A couple of silver framed large photo's with pilots wearing their badges & ct's. At centre I'd have a named Luftwaffe honour goblet preferably with photo of pilot.

Of coarse this would likely mean you would need to ditch the sales birdseye cabinet and have more of a free standing cabinet perhaps made in the character of the period. To me this would make for a KILLER display and yet the focus would still be on your pilot badges (beacuae you have so many of them). Different strokes for different folks I guess, but man it could be so much better. While I was looking at your display of badges my wife said Sarcastically" (at least I think she was being sarcastic) are franklin mint now doing german badges" (dont worry I'll give her a good thrashing later) but interesting what her first impressions were .

Just my 2 cents...and left like as it is still a very impressive collection I'd love to drool over in person.

        "display set up"

        Hi Greg,

You hit the nail precisely 1

What you mentioned is exactly my problem !

Don't mind your dear wife's comment ... spot on !!

I will try to find a compromise and surely try to "get rid of that sales display"

I will post that result of my efforts later on !

This maneuver will certainly ask for changes ... selling / buying ....

        ' God knows ! '

Be sure I do appreciate your kind help !

        Wolf
