Well, I have a fairly meagre offering for this thread. Not a flashy dress or combat uniform, but a working Drillich tunic showing a few personal upgrades for a Hauptfeldwebel. This set came, via the previous buyer, from the original owner who was apparently stationed in Norway with an artillery unit.
The tunic is well worn, has the 'Spiess' braiding added to sleeves and collar, as well as twisted cord loops sewn at the shoulders for wearing boards. His boards were included, showing typical alterations as the owner was promoted - the extra strip of braiding added at the ends and the slightly mismatched pips. The whistle was there too, still attached to the shoulder button, although I'm not sure where it would normally be worn on a tunic like this (if at all).

This is a really nice thread. quite a lot of nice Der Spieß uniforms pictured here.
Here is my contribution, A M36 Gebirgsjäger Feldwebel (Fahnenjunker-Feldwebel) Der Spiess. The jacket is 1938 dated.
I have spent 15 years, collecting bits and pieces to complete this uniform.
The trousers are 1940 dated M36 type stone gray trousers. The cap is a private purchase cap.
I just recently bought a mannequin, to display this uniform properly.
I really like how the tunic is shortened, and the pocket flaps of the trousers are peeking out from under the jacket.
Some detail pictures of the cap. It's a early model private purchase cap, with first type eagle - silver wire on light gray backing.
I have choosen to display the mannequin, without gamaschen/gaiters, and instead use Wehrmacht-issue wool socks. I want to display the green felt edge of the Gebirgsjäger shoes, instead of hiding them under gaiters.
I just hope that I'm not boring you to death with all these detailed pictures
I wanted something, that resembled the uniform in this picture, for my collection:
Best Regards
Björn, Norway

I would like to put together a Waffen SS Spiess uniform for living history, and seeing the details of an original "crime book" would be fantastic, as I would not mind attempting to reproduce them and other odds and ends used by leaders within a unit.
I am loving this thread. Truth be told I joined this forum for the purpose of studying German non commissioned officers in WWII, particularly Der Spiess. A goal is to write a book about the topic if I ever gain enough courage and wisdom.
Thank you all for sharing images of your collections.
