I went to Wavre with a few collector friends past saturday, and it was a good day.
I have a few new additions to my collection:
          - A mestin with equipment strap.
          - A Heeresverpflegung bag.
          - My first DAK/ tropical item, a belt.
          - A complete M30 Gasmask with canister.
          - And a not expected birthday suprise, a soldier sewing kit.

          Now the pictures, enjoy !

          Mestin on my mannequin:

[QUOTE=Jan B;5879213]Also, if you decide to collect 'only Heer' one must consider this is a very wide theme.

Do you have any preferences when it comes to the different waffenfarbe (branche-colours) or any specific time-frame (early or late war kit...)?

IMO, you are doing good it at this moment! Some general (heer) fieldgear/equipement, nice greatcoat. Before you know it, you have your first quality german soldier-mannequin. From there on you can concentrate on other projects.

Important to get good quality items and to pay/wait a bit longer...Patience is sometimes more of a problem then cash in our hobby. It's also the lack of patience (=knowledge) resulting that collectors are stucked with fakes and repro's...

Hi sorry to jump in but this made me think totally agree with what this chaps said as I have experienced most of those points mentioned & now take more time to wait for the correct items or upgrade some of my earlier purchases.

              Hey Arthur,

              I totally agree with you.
It's a great hobby, but it requires some efforts on many aspects.
And indeed patience and money is one of the main things.
Lukely I also met a good collector group that help me with tips, finding items, etc.
It's an interesting and challenging hobby.
And when I look back to past years, I see for myself a big evolution on my collection, knowledge, etc.
It's something that for the upcomming years will keep evolving.
That's also something that I like about this hobby.

A little change in my display.
I've stuffed the Heeresverpflegung bag with newspapers, and placed it next to my mannequin.

                            Hey Guys,

Again a new addition and changings in my collection.
I've bought a tropical equipment bag a few weeks ago, but now I found time to take pics and post it.
It stands next to my mannequin with greatcoat, it doesn't really suits with this equipment but I'm running out of space.

                            Rgrds,
                            Yannick
