1) The "Deutchland Erwacht" knife is a fantasy piece. BUT-- it is a "Fantasy piece" that I got when I was 10 and preceeds only the HJ knife in my collection.thumb
I still have my DE pocketknife BTW. I used to use it to clean the resin out of my bong.... henceforth the brain damage.
Just wanted to try out paddywhack's gay simile. Sorry. Carry on!
What's the "Taschenbuch 1942"? Some sort of diary or notebook? And the minis separated by the horizontal pin? Interesting stuff!

In reference to your question: Behind what or whom?
Just by joining this forum you are already ahead of most collectors out there who are running around without a clue. Take your time and use the collective knowledge of this forum to increase your own knowledge; and with that, it will all fall into place.
Don't get caught up in a race that doesn't exist, just enjoy what you have and enjoy the research and hunt for more authentic items.

Well, thanks for all the compliments!
The only race is against rising prices!!
Answers to your questions:
1) The software is one of my son's games! (a medieval strategic simulation )
I would like to know about cataloging software, though.
2) The Taschenbuch 1943 appears to be a guide for soldiers to benefits, pay scales, contact names and addresses for party departments and officials, and regulations. My German is poor, and I just got the book, but it's interesting. Sometimes the common things are the neatest.
The minis are an EK2 1939 with black wound badge, and the bigger one has a 1914 EK, hindenburg cross, Kaiser wilhelm medallion, and I believe, a long service party badge(?) The space looks, to me, like another piece may have been there at one time. The EK and swastica on the party badge are nicely enameled, great detail.
Thanks again!
Jeff
