"...Gooooddd Morning Vietnam....!..."

Well, in my collecting world something happened that made me focus on yet another chapter of military history ...I saw "...Platoon....." and well got fascinated by the history of the Vietnam war....this combination of old like gear combined with modern weapons was very appealing, in combination with the type of fighting involved....It was the early nineties and there was plenty of surplus of Vietnam war militaria round and was very and I mean very cheap compared with today's prices....

Then I really started to get into how the US Marines looked......

This is how my displyas looked at first......for an early mid war marine I just didnt like the idea of the M55 flack vest with the pockets but it was the only one I had at the time.......

Then I was able to complete the early mid war marine with the right vest......

This NVA belt was captured by a very good friend of mine on the foothills near Con Thien in 1967. He was in that outfit nicknamed the "Walking Dead".......Charley Company, 1st battalion, 9th Marines. He was awarded the purple heart for being wounded in action by a sniper......He is a man I truly admire and I consider myself lucky to call him my friend.
