Propaganda by two opposing Spanish speaking sides of WWII, left Signal magazine in Spanish with an article of the Blue Division and right Hazañas de Guerra magazine published in Mexico and sponsored by the Anglo-French Institute.

Now that the Krasny Bor anniversary is coming close, I take a moment to remember how it was 2010...when collecting community became aware of several blue division relics recovered in this famous Battlefield.........

By 2011, several helmets were shown, in some Spanish forums...which link has disappeared, but managed to save the photos.....three helmets were shown, and one that had my particular interest was this one....

I liked it as it had a common blau decal configuration, just pieces of the Spanish freiwillige issue....!!!

Now with a bit of luck..I have managed through a recent auction to acquire this helmet....In the above photos helmet still had pieces of clay attached and had only been cleaned with water...below is the helmet as it looks today...it was further cleaned by the previous owner and the damaged split rivet replaced.....

Detail of Heer decal, probably SE or ET.......

detail of the pieces of the Huber Jordan Spanish freiwillige decal..note remnants of lacquer transfer on said pieces.....

To be honest....I would have left the relic as it was found ....but that is just me.....as soon as I have it in hand I will remove the replace split rivet..that in not original to the lid......

I was also told that it was waxed to bring out the color but that it can be removed with soap and water (note the color difference between the above photos of original state and below as it is now)......so once in hand if this color is just unbearable...........I intend to do just that to get rid of the alterations and leave it as it should be.......

I´m against tampering helmets in such way....if its a relic, ......leave it as it isif its a good condition helmet..as long as you can add and then remove if wanted (liner chinstrap), well why not

One thing is preserving ..another altering.........

In this first photo of the auction, the helmet is shown with an Id tag that it is said to have been found with the helmet...so maybe its a KIA..who knows...this helmet it is said to have been found in a "pozo de tirador" I did not acquire the tag......

All the information I had on this helmet was due to the fact that I printed the whole thread original shown in a Spanish forum when this helmets were shown and the what had been done to them explained.....

will add more photos once I have it in hand and if necessary have removed that hideous brownish waxy stuff they put on top of this poor lid.........
