Dear All,
It's becomming more and more difficult to find groupings from private sources. So I was really happy to get a 100% attributed one via a collector friend and would like to share some pics with you. My most recent addition to my collection is this LW grouping. The recipient was Oberfeldwebel Anton W. who served as an Observer in France, Italy, Africa, and Russia. Here is some info on him as taken from his Soldbuch, and “war diary”:
Date of birth: March 14, 1917 in Gelsenkirchen
RAD Service April 05, 1938 till October 25, 1938
Joined service: Nov. 01, 1939 (Interestingly, there is a photo of him wearing a LW four pocket tunic with white insignia dated November 30, 1938 5./Regt. “General Göring”)
Served with II. / KG 6; and beginning September 18, 1943 with III. / KG 6
Promotions:
Gefreiter November 01, 1939
Obergefreiter October 01, 1940
Unteroffizier December 01, 1940
Feldwebel May 01, 1942
Oberfeldwebel December 01, 1943
Awards:
EK II 1939 October 10, 1940
EK I 1939 November 18, 1940
LW Observer Badge August 08, 1941
Bomber Clasp in Silver August 08, 1941
Bomber Clasp in Gold October 12, 1941
Italian War Merit Cross November 20, 1941

German Cross in Gold November 30, 1942
“Afrika” Medal December 24, 1942
Bomber Clasp with Pendant February 26, 1943
“Afrika” Cuff Title May 26, 1943
Krim Shield May 26, 1943
Bomber Clasp with “300” December 24, 1943
Early 1944: crash landing. No more flying. Wounds: code 28 and 36
Unfortunately, there were no documents but here are the awards and some equipment that he kept.
Best regards,
Albert
