Can we see a nice close-up of the back of the EK1/Spange combo?

Here are your requested photos. The photos are not very good, but...

Someone has to break the bad news, it may as well be me.

That's probably one of the only fakes in Gordon's great book. Really sorry, but it's bad.

                  Richard,

I have actually been questioning this piece for some time. I have a lifetime guarantee on the piece, so I can return it at any time. I was going to do so until I came across the photo in Gordon's book. That was the only reason I was holding on to it. But, it is good to finally know for sure. I will have it sent back right away. Thanks.

                  Regards,
                  John

It is taken care of. The EK1 & Spange will be returned. I am actually quite happy to see it go. It has been bothering me for a while. Now I can get my money back and purchase something I am sure of. By the way, when, and my whom was this repro made? The quality is quite good, and it shows its age well. It must be an old fake.

I am sure there are others on here who can identify the exact maker but I have seen a number of these for sale on eBay in the past with the exact same maker logo soldered to the back.

Just thougth you should know. Nice collection none the less.

                        John,

I'm not sure exactly, but it is also shown in Detlev Niemanns catalogue and the copy I have was printed in 1999 so probably a few years before that.

Maybe Gordon or Detlev can shed more light on it?
