    Some Loose 1914 EK1s

Just got back from visiting a friend who expressed a desire to learn more about these thingies, so I threw a few into a case and paid him a visit.
Each one is a different variant. I'm not much of a Display Guy, but since I have them out, here goes:

Eric, that is a very nice display case and the thingies inside are not too bad either. In fact, I am slightly jealous.

                    Thanks, guys!

I limited the selection to earlier pre WW2 as newest (with a primary emphasis on worn wartime examples). I picked 50 out to show and ended up leaving four examples with my friend who happens to have worked as a picture framer. He has a very large selection of old frames, and is going to mount the crosses into frames that I chose. I hope to share these framed crosses on the Forum in a month or so....

I kind of hate to ask this, but....

                      How many more are there?

Let's just say that even though I'm not quite as old as Sal Williams, I've had an intermittent sweet tooth for 1914 EK1s since the age of 13......

                          Hi Eric,

A man after my own heart!! Great display! When I saw the image, I thought "he's used one of my images"! I have the same coloured velveteen in the same type of cultery case for my 1914EK1s!! I don't have quite as many though. Eric, would you care to do some image swapping?

                          Regards
                          Mike K
PS: If your velveteen base isn't actually stuck in, I'd suggest getting some thin acid-free wadding/padding and putting it under the velveteen. It lets the pins "seat" better and stops them from rolling around.
                          Regards
                          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

You make that sound so casual. Damn you.
