    Gerd,
I am sure some of these look very familiar BUT I do think they look a little
better at my house --Thank You my friend!!

    David,
The cross you asked about is "The merit cross for ladies and young ladies."
It was designed by Queen Augusta to honor some of those who helped care
for the sick and wounded of the Franco-Prussian War. There were a total
of 2,992 of these awarded in 1871. These are not actually an Iron Cross
but they are still COOL and the quality and workmanship in these crosses is
    OUTSTANDING.
Thanks Greg. Would love to see a close up if you have another photo session.

              EKman,
Here is a shot of the screwbacks. The scanner distorted the shape of them
              slightly.

Here is a closer shot of the womans cross. The back of the cross shows some
                damage to the enameling.

Thanks Greg. As Robb stated the woman's cross is stunning - a fine piece of craftsmanship. Thanks again for taking the pictures and sharing your collection with us.

Thank you ALL for the great comments on my small collection.

I just posted this in a different thread and thought I would add it here as a
                              parting shot.

Brass frame, Iron core, TR sized imperial "pillowed" screwback.

                              Thanks again,
                              sincerely,
                              Greg
