    Headgear Collection

    I haven't posted any pics lately, so I thought I'd post one on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I've been swapping out my LW for Heer, and this is where I am so far.

    Still not what most would consider a focused collection, as tunics seem to be my favorite item, but getting more focused then when I started.

        Thanks for the comments....not sure if I'll sell the LW or not. It's a M40 SD, Q66, named in white on the back rim. I thought I'd keep one so I'd have a nice example in my collection, but may list or trade it.

          There's always at least one (or two or three) that you won't

                    Nice collection, nice items and in great condition. Very well displayed. I would caution you about one thing. I don't think it is a good thing to put the chin straps over the "bill" of the helmet like that. I got a helmet in mint condition from an old collector who displayed it like that for years. It was beautiful...until I took the chinstrap down. There was a strip of rust where the chin strap had been. I always did that on my other helmets until that point. No longer. Apparently the leather can hold moisture against the paint and eventually it will penetrate and cause rust. I would not want that for your wonderful items.

                          Very nice selection of headgear Bob! I need to start picking up at least 1 of each model of helmet for my collection. I used to have several helmets but moved some to buy other items and find that I just really enjoy the cloth more. I do miss having a few solid helmets though. Only 1 trop M40 SD right now :/ Matt
