Where I’m challenged by the lack of space in my office to display my do-dads (http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=193459&page=4) I figured I might ‘repackage’ some of my Luft stuff into one frame versus three to save wall space and thought I would share the results of my reconfigured mount.
I merged my Milch GFM Boards and photos into a new 24” x 24” mount with some of my other loose uniform insignia. My General’s Cape eagle first shown here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...84085#poststop is the central focal point. The boards are for greatcoats except for the Generalmajor examples. While there are pictures of Milch wearing these larger boards on his service tunics, I guess it’s open to speculation if his boards here are tunic or greatcoat. (who really cares, right?)
Unfortunately, while times were good, I never did find the last two sets of rank tabs I needed. I hope the purists forgive me for displaying a reproduction set of GFM tabs in this display - I figured that if I was going to have Milch’s medal bar made up I might as well indulge myself. If anyone has an authentic set of Generaloberst & GFM tabs that they feel like letting go for a thirty pack or a fifty dollar gift certificate for Kentucky Fried Chicken please let me know as that’s about all I can afford these days after all these years of enlightened monetary policy from Washington DC.
That said, I hope you like the new display.
