    My American Collection

Here is my ww2 US collection, which is comprised of items from my Grandfathers service in the USAAF.

Here is a display I have put together of his medals, a couple photographs of him and a photo-copy of his Discharge paperwork

I have his original discharge paperwork in a tri fold leather case, aswell as a few post war documents.

I have his nearly filled pilots log book (obviously post war)

After the war, my grandfather worked in the Bone Yard at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona for a few years where he gutted aircraft, and "liberated" this fire extinguisher supposedly from a B-29 Super Fortress

I also have his canteen and pouch

After leaving Davis-Monthan, my grandfather moved to California, where he was a civilian US Air Force employee at Norton AFB for 32 years, and i have two awards, one for 30 years, the other for 32 when he retired!

This is beautiful...honored to know that you hold these dear to you while many would split it to make a profit. Cheers to you!

Thank you kindly for the replies! I would never sell any of my grandfathers "story", unfortunately he passed when I was still a fetus so i never had the opportunity to meet him. Unlike the majority of my "generation", I have a profound appreciation and respect for history, military or otherwise!
