Great stuff! Fun to see material obtained locally in Tunesia!
Not many members here from that part of the world! Lots of (WW2) history there!

Great items and I really like the fact that they are documented local finds in Tunisia. I have never been to Tunisia but feel as if I have a connetion to that area via a friend of mine who was based there during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps' 66th Squadron, 57th Fighter Group (attached to British 8th Army). Here is my friend with his P.08 ("S/42" dated 1938, #1168n) which he acquired from within a bombed out building near his airfield at Kairouan, Tunisia in May of 1943. The other items shown are his theater-made Squadron patches, his pilot's wings, and a LW gravity knife that he picked up at a former LW airfield in Italy. The P.08 now resides in my collection and is the only documented "Afrika Korps" weapon that I have.

super, great story . the Germans have left vast amounts of weapons leaving Tunisia. Moreover, many of these weapons were provided by the Tunisian after their independance to their Algerian brothers to serve against the French army during their war of independence. Moreover, the Algerian fighters were equipped with excellent equipment against the French (mp40, mg34 and Mauser).i am sure they are still a lot of these weapons in Tunisia, but it is difficult to get them because people are afraid to speak because it is strictly prohibited by law

algerian fighters equiped with mp40 during independance war

MP 44 of algerian fighters seized by french army, lot of stuff

last one extracted from Osprey book on independence war algerian fighters, notice the german armament !!!

Very nice finds, there is nothing better then localy aquired items.
Is it possible to go digging on battlefields in Tunisia, or is that risky because forbidden? I am sure there are plenty of items left to find, particularly in the mass surrender areas.

Yes it is possible, but i have never done this (afraid of explosives), but for sure there are lot of super spot in the kasserine pass and in the mass surrender areas like mateur north of tunisia.

small update (not locally found) but I love the gas mask canister, I think they are inseparable from the silhouette of the German soldier
