my small collection in its new cabinet

my collection is tiny compared to most.. though growing slowly

just found this little cabinet on sale for $20 so I figured it would be pretty good for display. I like the glass shelves so you can see everything.

eventually I will probably have multiple cabinets with more focused displays.

    thanks for looking!

                    Nice start, indeed.
Just go on, keep an eye on nice items that appear now and then and check everything amongst colleagues, and you'll enjoy for years...

                          Thanks!

I am a little worried to tell others of my hobby... is this normal?
My parents as well... I am afraid others wouldn't understand.

received another 1942 polizei pin and small NSKOV pin to add to the cabinet.
removed some zincpest from both with petroleum jelly and a brush... worked amazingly well! (my 1st experience doing this)

                            collection

It is true, we all start start out this way. Glad to see New Collectors, and please don't be shy about asking questions here, that's what were here for!! Great start keep going and good Hunting! As far as other people knowing or understanding, it's a Hobby, and you will find other interested as you are. If they don't like it, that's there problem not yours. You are collecting History, consider yourself to be among a select few who wish to preserve it , and enjoy it!! Dave.

                              Collecting

yes Im afraid some people just dont agree with collecting TR Militaria. Why I dont know just deep prejudice against anything Nazi or Nazi related. I had to tone down my displays. I only had several framed photographs of German Soldiers and some headgear on foam heads on display. I have removed most of them due to comments from visitors usually behind my back. Kinda makes me angry now I only have family members photographs out. I have a son at school and I dont want him singled out if I lived alone I wouldnt care. I wouldn't hide it from your family or they may think there is a reason like your a white supremist or something really its no different to collecting anything just more expensive. Its good to see younger collectors so good luck.
                              cheers Robert
