Thierry,
Thanks for posting these fantastic pictures of the Dieppe museum. Dieppe was a total failure and The reason was very simple: Britain's Secret Intelligence Service ("Broadway") told the Germans about the raid a day ahead of time, on purpose. The plan was to send the Germans information about the raid 12 hours after it started. But the SIS was not told that the landing was postponed until Tuesday. The Germans received the message Monday evening, alerted their forces at Dieppe and were waiting before dawn on the 19th.

VERY interesting Bernie...I knew that the Germans expected that the raid was imminent, but I did not know this particular fact...
Thanks very much for the info & link

Hi to All,
Here is my last customized Hindsgaul mannequin with this expressive & "rough" face that I love...one of my favourite!
(That one already posted some days ago but to another thread and this is more his place)
This one is for an NCO Luftwaffe fighter pilot (JG2/JG27) defending Dieppe, August 19, 1942

Hi To All,
For those who haven't got the opportunity to see the 2012 exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid the 19th of august 1942, I organize a new one this year...even for those who already saw the last year expo, new dioramas with (re)customized mannequins, displays, relics, veteran's items have been added and this year the exhibition will focus on the relics & remains of the Raid.
it will be held from 10 to 22 of August, in the same old building as last year (which was the Kriegsmarine Kommandantur during WWII) located of the sea front.
...hope to have the pleasure of welcoming some of you!
Best to All,
Thierry
