    Mannequins

Where is everyone getting the superb mannequins for your displays. I'm talking about the full size one's. I've got one, but not too happy with the lafemme look of him.

You can find very good ones on Ebay some at decent prices some at prices you would pay for a nice tunic or lid. The older ones sell for more because they were made of wood. Just be warned you have to wade through sellers descriptions of these things as if they were talking about real people...some are weird indeed with links to strange mannequin love clubs.

IMO this guy has the best mannequins for sale.

        http://www.finemannequins.com/

He also sells on ebay with the username "finemannequins" and sometimes lists them cheaper there than on his website.

I bought 2 of his economy male range mannequins ( DYL209 & EA-518) and they are superb. Perfect for military uniforms.

        Regards,

        Des

            Dallas,

I just ordered one this morning from Websters displays in Michigan.
don't have the link offhand, but keyword Websters displays & you'll
find it.Excellent selection, good prices, fast shipment. You can even
have your choice of caucasian, oriental or african american!

Jack, just buy 2 standing models & ship them up to me & I'll
break their kneecaps & they should sit quite nicely

Several firms are importing mannequins made in Red China now - they generally run about $115 to $130 before shipping and are not the fruity Dillard's-looking jobs you see so often. I get them in a neutral white color - it really sets off the uniform. If you can find a store fixture company in your town, they can probably order them for you. I drive to Houston to get mine - cheper than postage!

                  Great new sources! Thanks!

I had tried ebay and it was hit or miss, but the stuff everyone's contributed here will help tremendously! I'd like to move to a more diorama setting one day like a lot of you here have already done.

I got a styrofoam torso for my Dads Ike jacket and am pleased with it.
