    What started it all!

I got into collecting because I was born into a collecting family. My father collected almost anything that he could get his hands on but predominantly old advertising. In the course of my youth as I explored his collection I came across a handful of cool 'NAZI' items. Some were obviously nazi because of the swastika and the others I had to take at my dad's word.

I ended up collecting a few different things over the course of my 32 years and still have a couple of those other collections. But as you all know and similarly share my greatest interest came to be Whermacht military antiques.

So I would like to share with you a photo of the small handful of pieces that came from my father and that started it all for me:

Identifiable as German in my youth:
    *KM Summer Breast Eagle
    *UBoat stick pin
    *Long service award device

Somewhat unknown to me until I joined WAF:
    *Gefreiter chevron
    *Horcher trade badge (denaz)
    *Anchor pip
    *KM Signals trade badge

Needless to say these pieces will always be special to me and they will never leave my collection.

Pretty cool Adam, I'll have to go home tonight and take some pictures of my beginnings. Thanks for sharing!
