Doubts about an administrative officer display

    Good Morning,

I have an administrative officer manequim (from heer - Oberleutenant) and i have a little doubt about the kind of badge that i could put in it.

I have thought in a ribbon bar with an war merit 2 nd class and a long service award; an war merit cross (first class without swords);a general assaut badge and a black wound badge.

    Suggestions or critics?

    Thanks a lot.

how about a WMC 1st class with out swords instead of the GAB or do you want him to have some proper front line service?

Yes, i thought in that line (with some participation in the front).

For an administrative officer in this rank this is all right?

      Thanks.

Also remember that there were SO many different situations out there that almost anything would be correct.

Looking forward to seeing your display.

also the black wound badge could have been awarded for being injuried in a air raid!

              Hi,

I have a ribbon bar in my collection, which belonged to the type of person you are describing here.

He was an administrator in a feldpost office. He was awarded amongst other things the Russian Front medal, a KVK-X along with a 25 year faithful service cross.

Hope that helps you in your quest

What color is the nebenfarbe on the tunic? The specialty could help in picking the most appropriate award for the tunic.

                Regards
                Paul

I prefer admin personell without combat awards. Only about 10 percent of the German army was actually engaged in combat the rest were in the rear with the gear - and this of course goes doubly so for admin personell. Of course there may have been some pencil pushers with combat awards but this I would think is the exception to a very firm rule. If you desperately want to hang some combat awards on your admin guy please make it WWI stuff which would be more acceptable with your admin guy being an older guy drafted in WWII unfit for front duty but having served in WWI.
