Hi to All,

Work on nice bases as the Hindsgaul, Rootstein or the splendid John Nissen brand is a always a pleasure and often give a nice result as the physiognomy are already there...
...but customize a common (sometimes "ugly") shop mannequin is a challenge!
Here is a good example!

All "new" are all just like from D² podium. My vintage one (from 70-s) is just right even with its only original finish on it.

Long time that this thread was not updated...

Here is a Pintus mannequin customized
...certainly not the best base possible comparing to the Hindsgaul, Rootstein or Nissen mannequins really much more realistic (even non customized) but always better than before...
...at least I hope!

This is one of the best mannequins that I have seen for facial features. Nearly every other mannequin that I have seen has high cheekbones, full lips and large eyes, they look ridiculous and no amount of paint can hide these features.

My repaints for a local collector, these are those ebay "budget" mannequins, they look bland to say the least from the factory...but a little paint and detailing bring them to life. The bottom picture show how they come from the manufacturer. .."zombies mode"

Some detail painting and.....presto!.....you have a much better looking display mannequins, this was a particular request by the collector, the FJ was wanted with shrapnel/combat wounds....the other was for a DAK display.
