These pics are posted elsewhere here on the WAF, but this is a good thread to show my Generalmajor Axel von der Lochau's Waffenrock set-up with a head from Dan46.

        Great looking stuff guys

I personally like using heads when possible for two reasons - First, I feel I get more context out of the display by having a head with somewhat of an expression reflective of the theme I'm presenting with the uniform and its associated headgear, and second I don't like just laying a piece of headgear on the neck area of the tunic or jacket as it sometimes covers collar insignia etc... I only do it as a last resort because finding realistic looking heads in this country with different expressions is extremely difficult, and in some cases a piece of headgear might be too small for most heads that are available.

I'd like to be able to do the kind of work that NZ Mark & Fred Fokkelman do, but that looks like it takes quite the artistic hand (and some top notch materials) to do. I've reworked a few of the heads I have and although not quite museum-like they serve their purpose for now. I have alot of work to do on my room, but here's a peek at some of it. My collection is set-up chronologically starting with Sep '39 and ending (for the time being until I get a USMC uniform for the summer of '45) in the spring of '45. In addition to the full size mannequins are torsos sprinkled throughout each year appropriate to the year/campaign. Pics of them will be in a separate "My Room" Thread down the road.

As my room gets closer to completion I'll post more pics.

Stuka Pilot September 1939. The white-top Donald Duck with the Schleswig-Holstein tally is on a head that needs a little face lift. I'll post him when done.

RAF Pilot NCO scrambling on Adler Tag, 13 Aug 1940. I'm trying to find a nice original RAF station flag as a backdrop for him. Anybody know where I can find one

I'm trying to finish my French campaign Heer troop. He'll show-up when he's done.

Fj NCO - Italy 44 (I'm putting a trop o/s cap on him), US Lieutenant - 29 ID 6 Jun 44, W-SS Unterscharfuhrer 12 SS Hitlerjugend Falaise Pocket Aug 44. The A-2 jacket on the torso belonged to a B-24 crewman who bombed my father's town in Italy (while he lived there). He told me about the couple of times they were bombed - he would have got a charge out of this jacket.

We could have an entire thread dedicated to Dan46 head displays it seems!
