It would be good to add a link to the thread in question since I have no clue about what kind of stands you are looking for. I do have several different types of hat stands that I got off ebay and would be glad to share the source of them with you but for the life of me I have no clue what thread you are talking about.

    Cheers,

    -SHane

Ahhh, that's better I actually thought without even looking at Eric's thread that this would be the stand you were talking about. Here is a link to an eBay auction where you can get one. I have never dealt with this Chap but he seems to have some awesome feedback, and he delivers worldwide. If you don't have an eBay account let me know and I'll contact him and send you his email address. Most of these sellers are willing to do buisness outside of eBay if a buyer does not have an eBay account.

        Hope this helps.

            Sure thing, will do.

I really liked these stands when I first saw them. The have everything you should look for ina quality stand, but I found out that they were a dark mahogany color and that did not match my Walnut living room, so unfortunately I could not get them.

Here is my Para helmet display stand with Styrafoam head. Needed for the chinstrap. I know the bandage is a modern repro but it made the helmet look better, as is the scrim camo.

The whole helmet is actually a collector piece made from period parts and a very good modern chin guard. Can't remember who made it but it was some famous helmit guy.

                  Nice looking helmets

I am looking for stands for peaked caps and KM tellermutze, it might seem a daft question but what do collectors normally do if the hat is too big for the styrofoam. Whats the best way to pad it out

I took one of those disposable Zip Lock Containters (as they come in all sizes) and I cut the rim down a bit so you wouldn't see if over my US overseas Cap, then I Used on of the current Walnut stands I have and put the hat on it by placing the Zip lock container on the stand portion. The hat keeps it's shape and the stand looks like t is the thing doing all the work. You don't even see teh ziplock container.
