Ray!!!!!! Don't leave me hangin bro, 1 of 6? keep em coming!!! Dude going through withdrawl already.
Not sure how much longer I can hold out,
The sickness, it calls me again
    I now must answer.
But I guess it only hurts till the next fix and then

and, hey, speaking of posting your pics: How is it you are able to post or did I miss something? Are you an Association Member here?

In any case I should have my Association Member status reinstated in the next day or so, But then to try and figure out this new fangled technology. I might be faster sending pics through the post office, I am in uncharted territory here with Windows8 everything is a freaki'n app now, by the time I figure out what I want to do with an image and how to open it with an app, I've already lost the damn thing and can't seem to find it

I am super motivated though to figure it out now that I have the SS set to post (as well as reviving all my other collection posts that are more than a year old which I'll have a few days of work to get all the pics together and sorted for those.)

Ahh! the hell with it for tonight I'm going to bed.
    Talk to ya tomorrow Ray.

Sorry Dave, didn't mean to leave you hanging there, but we're on different time zones with me being in the UK and you being in the US.
As for me posting pics, well I just do what I have always done when using different web forums. I upload my pics to a photo hosting website and copy and insert the image code here into my posts. I am not an associate member I guess, and I'm not sure what that actually means!
My next offering is an Army set. No maker marks I'm afraid, but with my pensioner's budget 'beggars can't be choosers' and I am satisfied just to get them - with or without mm's!
        Cheers, Ray.

Forgot to say - I have just today received a left facing (viewed from front) cap eagle. RZM M1/17 with a wingspan of 46mm x 31mm height. I think this is designated as an M38 model?
Question is:- what organisation(s) used them?
          Any ideas please, anyone
          Thanks, Ray.

            Hey Ralph,
Great to be back and kinda in the swing of things again.
It's great to hear from you as well and look forward to seeing all the new
stuff people have gotten over the past year or so.
Great to hear from the newer guys that I have still to make friendships with.
Any other diorama projects or miniatures you been working on or completed?
Send me links if you get the chance, if not I'm sure I stumble across anything new, but, of course, links are faster.

Again it's great to chat with you bud!
            Dave

              Hey Ray
Just joking around with my last post bro, if you took it any other way.

Association Members get some extra perks, if you will, You are able to post your pics right to this server, which does two things 1. it is much more convenient and 2, and more importantly the pics stay in the thread. Many threads have been made useless simply because the pics were uploaded on a different server and may disappear later down the road.
The other perk is that you are able to access the Members only forums which has a lot of great info especially for beginners, but also for the seasoned collector. The cost is $25.00 annually, but you can opt for a lifetime membership as well, that is if nothing had changed in the last year or so.
It really does end up paying for itself in the long run either way you choose by helping you stay away from the never ending waterfall of fakes that continue to flood the market, which by the way, are getting better and better as time goes on.

Now that we got out of the way, I love the look of these eagles, design wise that is. Your wreath is really nice as well. It's a shame the center pin is gone, I presume it had 3, but when your budget is tight your, collection grows very slowly, and like you, I won't settle for low quality. I love the fact that these items, and really every other collection I have, has been preserved all these years. They look just as they did when they were made. That being said, the heavily patina on some pieces make them a true one-of-a-kind piece.
Marked pieces vs. unmarked IMO makes very little difference to me. Many manufacturers never marked their pieces until the government got involved and it became required.

Have you been collecting very long, and if so, have you any other collections?
              Talk to ya soon bro
              Dave

                Hey bro,
Post a pic of it and we'll see if we can't get you an answer to this question. I know the standard political eagle, which I think this is what we're talking about, was used by a couple different organizations i.e. Forestry, postal, certain D.A.F. ranks and could probably come up with more if I were to spend some time to research it in more depth.
I don't think left or right facing had anything to do with a specific organization or had any meaning to it. I had the " left vs. right facing" question several years back and it was the consensus of the forum, at that time anyway, that it was more of a " design thing" and had no actual "meaning".

Hope this helped at least a little, but I think a pic would get us further.

                Dave

OK Dave, here is a pic of the smaller RZM eagle that I got today @ 46mm wingspan. (at bottom)
Above it for comparison is the RZM eagle from my Reichspost set @ 55mm wingspan.

Perhaps my latest small bird should be with the Reichspost set and the larger one could be used with a Forestry wreath that I have which is missing a bird?????

That's precisely how I have mine displayed. Reichspost has the smaller and the forestry has the larger. Was this the regulation? who knows. I have seen untampered, period forestry caps and reichspost caps with both combinations, so I think whatever the official regulation was, it was very very loosely enforced if ever.
                    Birds look freak'n awesome though.

Next up, an N.S.D.A.P. cap set...very difficult to capture the proper colour of this! (and only one surviving pin on the birdie!)

....and a LUFT set. Eagle has 3 blades instead of pins.

...and here they are all together. I have not cased them up yet as next year I am emigrating and it will be easier for transportation for me to wait until I have moved and case them after.

Very nice Ray, Sorry for the late reply. I've been busy this last week as well as being sick on and off.
Your collection is off to a great start, keep going.
I'm still working on getting things in order to post the latest insignia I've got.
Thanks again for showing your collection.
