Where to find Glass cabinets? EDm, Calg, Canada

Starting to display my goods, I like the glass shelving look and glass & chrome cabinet such as Adam has. Seen them at Amazon and Walmart .com sites but not Canada. Whats a good and cheap place to find them?

I like lighted curios, but can't find any all glass and chrome framed ones. Canada with EDm or Calgary areas are best.

Kelly. I don't know how much room you have but I have had good luck finding cabinets at stores that are going out of business. I keep my eyes peeled for stores that have going out of business signs and when their inventory gets low I stop in and see if the showcases are available. I have gotten several that way but you need room for them. I have now maxed out my space.

My space is limited to just an extra bedroom office for now, but good idea for larger areas. But aren't the used business cabinet glass scratched to heck?

If there is a thrift shop near you, keep checking it. I found this solid oak cabinet with leaded, bevelled glass at the Sally Ann for 250.00. It's from the 1960's, and just needed a little TLC.

I like the shelving space on these larger ones. And the glass can hold more weight.

Also try Kijiji and craigslist!

There are lots of retail liquidators on Kijiji (in my area at least). I've been able to pull mannequins and display cases off both.

I see some guys have the wider detolf. Is that a discontinued model?

Ikea has a nice cabinet you can get with glass doors, called Billy. You can mix and match components to your hearts desire. Its what I used to display my collection in. Detolf glass cabinets are great for helmets and headgear, you can put 2 in 1 shelving section, so 1 Detoif holds 8 pieces of headgear or helmets nicely displayed.

I know a guy who can get you the glass cabinetry your looking for, John at Impact Retail Solutions. He's a good friend of mine here in Edmonton.

Thanks. That Billy system looks good. I'm after all glass front doors and 2 side glass. Like a detolf stype and price but wider.

Also check "Value Store Fixtures" over by the stadium. They have used store fixtures and display cases as well as new.

Yes I know that place. Have you seen any decent cabinets there? If the fixtures inside look like the outside of that building, ouch! Lol

You may have to go there more than once but, yes, they have some decent items. Walk around and have a look.
