How 'bout something like this? It's an Adobe "posterized" propoganda poster.

            Mark, that was funny.

I did the same thing and just made a list of the items I have in categories. For example:

            -Army officers dagger (Eickhorn)
            -Army officers dagger (Holler)

-Cased Iron Cross 1st Class (L15)
            -Cased Gold wound Badge (30)
            -Cased pilot's badge (Assmann)

            -Luftwaffe evening gala tunic
            -Luftwaffe officers visor (Erel)

            -NSBO standarte
            -NSDAP podium banner

-Portrait print of A.H. by Hoffmann

This is just an example, and my list is more complete. I also inserted the rupturedduck logo as I purchase most of my items from Bills (but you can insert any graphic you wish) and used Microsoft word as a template.

This would be the very first page you see when you open the binder. The second page will contain pictures of the very first item (Eickhorn dagger) on the list followed by a certificate of authenticity. After this one, I just follow the order according to the list (pictures of the item followed by certificate), exc...so the second item would be pictures of the Holler dagger, certificate, pictures of the cased EK1 (L15), certificate exc....

That's how I categorizes my collection.

One more thing in regards to the graphic used.

Since I dont collect in any one field (luft. heer exc.) I would use a general image that portraits the third reich. A swastika or Hitlers "A.H." logo would do the trick. Maybe even a knights cross or EK1.

If you collect heer, I would use either the army standarte or a picture of the heer decal from a helmet

Luftwaffe, I would use any eagle clutching a swastika (usually all look great).

              Kreigsmarine, Maybe a U-boat badge

              Hope this helps.

You can even use period postcard images. They also look great.

                Thanks Guys,

I particularly like the little sailing boat!

I had looked at using the propaganda poster for my naval postcards but could not get an image with high enough resolution to blow up to A4 size.

Althought most of my general stuff is Kriegsmarine I do have awards from the other services. I think idealy something like a collage of photos similar to the graphics used on this site covering all three services maybe.

Perhaps in the Assoc Members section of the forum we could create a "sticky post" of different images for members to use.

                Regards
                Rob.

You've inspired me... Here's my contribution for some sort of a Luftwaffe collection:

Brings me back to the good old days, when I was seven years old, and my mom nearly beat the s**t out of me for drawing a Nazi flag (in crayon of course) after watching Raiders of the Lost Ark...

Seriously though, here's the image that I use on my reference material binder:

                            Springtime for Hitler and Germany...
