    THATGUY's collection

Hey WAF! I've posted my small collection on here before, but this is an updated version. I'll be posting other updates on this thread too. If you have any questions, just ask! Also, if you want close ups on anything, I can do that too.

All of the U.S. items belonged to my Great Uncle, except for the 3 canteens. Those were a result of a year long canteen frenzy. Only the rare and mint stayed. The middle canteen is actually a 'paratrooper' model or a mounted model with an ethocel canteen inside. (Plastic experimental canteen.)

Here are the last pictures for tonight, maybe. More of my Great Uncle's items. I'm afraid that the rest of the gear I have is G.I. I spent alot of money doing reenactments for the past 2 years, so now that I've stopped I'll have enough to get my German collecting up and running again.

Very nice! The items displayed, did they belong to a relative? I'm always happy to see vintage US militaria.

                Best regards, Steve

                    Mike, Adam, thanks!

Steve, All of the U.S. Militaria (minus the canteens and a medal and patch displays) are all from my Great Uncle who was a Medical Quartermaster Officer in the 216th General Hospital Admin. Staff. He enlisted in 1942 and got out in 1946 as a Major. I recieved all of his items from the war. They came in his footlocker. His family was about to throw them out until my grandma made sure I got them!

The other displays on the wall are from all 3 of my grandpas. The one on the left is from my grandpa who was a Navigator during WW2 and a flight surgeon afterwards I believe. He also took part in the Eniwetok Atomic Tests in 1952.

The one in the middle is a Pharmacists mate badge from my other grandpa who was a Navy Corpsman in the very last days of WW2 and post war. He was training for the Invasion of Japan when the atomic bombs went off.

I also have dog tags and an I.D. bracelet from my grandpa who served in the Army during 1951-1954.

On the right is all of my Great Uncle's medals and decorations.

We also have a family member who was in the Battle of the Bulge, but I don't have anything from him. Also, my cousins husband's grandma has an entire collection of German Infantry gear that belonged to her husband. Hopefully I can get a look at that stuff someday.

Alrighty, I'm done with the family history.
