    Imperial Kriegsmarine Binoculars

    I have acquired a Pair of large 7 x 50 Carl Zeiss with original case . I am not sure what the markings K. D. X mean . Also the X is not clear and could possibly mean something similar . While they are in very good condition , they were at some time in their life painted red . Regrettably there was no provenance with them as they came from an estate sale and I would like to know whether there was a possibility that they were painted red for some reason during their Marine service or painted red some time after their Marine life . Should any members be able to assist with info on this red colour and the X marking , it would be very much appreciated .
