Kav Schutzen Reg 6 was formed in Nov 1938, they became part of the 2nd light division for the invasion of Poland.

In 1940 for the invasion of France , they were reformed in the 7th Panzer Division under the Desert Fox, Erwin Rommel,

The shoulder boards had the S for schutzen with the regiment number below
