Folks I'm very pleased to have read the positive response on the forums. My honest inspiration is seeing all of the collections you all have and hopefully someday I'll be able to work up to that level. Jody, a very cool part of those mosin nagants is that first off, two are both ivesk imperial Russian M91 rifles dated 1896 and 1898, making them 112 and 114 yrs old. One of them was used in battle by Russia against the austro-Hungarians and captured. This shows from some of the sling adaptations and proof marks. The rifle was then sold to Finland and used right back against the soviets during the Winter war. The other shows evidence of the same. Both rifles have obvious combat "been there/ done that" scars from overhead shrapnel.(they are SA marked) (They are definately blooded) The 3rd M91 is in amazing condition, also imperial Russian, with a possibility of being used in the Balkans. It has an interesting sling variation that connects to a sling swivel located on the front of the magazine. After having been reviewed by a friend and fellow collector, we actually found imperial German proof marks, very interesting. You have to wonder where these rifles have been and how they got there. One of my faves is that Russian capture mod98, dated 1939 "27" k98. All waffenamp stamps are clearly visible and didn't manage to be scarred by the typical X Russian capture mark. This is another rifle that definately saw combat.

            More Than A Great Start!

            Pablo,

I just wanted to congratulate you on your collection to date. I know that it will keep growing and evolving from here, but it is already quite a collection. Good Luck and Continued Success.

            Sincerely,

            Jeremiah

Thankyou Jeremiah, that means Alot. This hobby has proved very rewarding. I have to thank you for the newest addition of that new ekII, it's truly stunning and found a very appreciative new home where it will be cherished. I can't wait for the other ostfronts. I'm planning on turning that entire room into my study as well as the "man room". I'll provide pictures when the room is furnished, and the cases and flags are hung.

Hey Pablo, some nice looking items there, the helmet looks a lot nicer than you described, but I guess it's kinda hard to put this type of condition in words, but it's pretty nice. Are there any marks on the reverse of the pins? I like the EK1 stick pin (the dual cross pin) a lot, the one I have is L/52.
                    Great stuff Bro.

Thanks gents, I definately need to put the time into learning mm's and distinguishing features so I can sort out the fakes though. I'm not sure exactly what I'll start focusing on but right now my favorites are the ek's, ostfronts, and wb's. Dave, the stickpins have no mm that I noticed so I didn't take pics. I like them Alot too and noticed they really accent the full size award. Ya man, ive seen some really beat up ground dug helmets but this one looked great and the price was just right. Itll make a great shelf piece or coffee table piece.Today I think I'll go find some project clamps so I can start hanging my flags.

Sweet stuff! I don't think it's that humble. You have some choice items.

Hey, man. Thanks for alerting me to this thread with all the photos of the collection... I usually never stray far from the buckles forum I think everyone has already said it... a fantastic collection! Really nice to see some of my former pieces so appreciated in their new home.

The HJ buckle is really nice... looks to be a nickel over steel and perhaps by either Berg & Nolte or Dr. Franke & Co. (based on the eagle design.) I'd love to see a photo of the reverse and any markings. Nice 35 mm NSDAP Jugend buckle too from the looks of it...would love to see a closer image. Where is the SA buckle you mentioned? (you know these are my favorite!)

Congratulations again, man...a beautiful and discerning collection built at breakneck speed. May it grow and grow.

                                Best,
                                Adam
