    Our Community Center Military Display

Last September, C.O.Sargent and I pooled our collections once again and with the help of friends and family, put up a display at our local gun show. Actually we set up in the foyer outside the main room where the show itself was in progress.

Here are 16 pictures, nice and large but of small file size so they should load fairly quickly. All questions and comments are welcome.

The full-on view as you walk inside, past the glass doors.

found the perfect belt for my Lt. Colonel tunic of Cavalry some time ago, courtesy of Bill Shea.

(forgot to pad up the arms prior to the show)

and some views of Sarge's impeccable FJ items, should have taken more pictures of them. (my bad)

and some Canadian items to balance out the display. at the time I could not locate the pair of 1945 dated trousers that I usually match up with my1945 dated Royal Winnipeg Rifles battledress, so I had to make do with a 1951 dated pair. They fit, and were were sufficient for the task but the differences are clear to see.

my Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 (longbranch) rifle.

this was actually made for me by my father, who has collected firearms since the early 1950's. he dipped into his spare parts inventory, found whatever he needed and put them all together.

                          how cool is that?

and the main men. Sarge's mannequin on the left, mine on the right.

wish I had a set of the correct blackened web gear as befits a rifleman but period items like those are next to impossible to find.

(ah yeah, his Mk II helmet is on backwards) Duh'oh.
