    A small Luftwaffe offering.....

    Hi everyone,

I just secured my first honour goblet to a KC holder who also won the DKiG. This has taken me down the path of researching the officer - Major Wilhelm Sell Kommandeur of NAGr 5 - and I hope to add more examples of awards earned by him as time progresses, together with information on his unit. In the meantime here is the start, hope you like it so far !

Nice pieces but a dead polished goblet...

Yep - you're SO right about the goblet. Some fool polished it up before I got it and also left it with very light scratching to the finish of the bowl. I had to balance that with the fact that is otherwise undamaged and is also to a KC holder ! I would have much prefered it with an original patina though...and I have no intention of keeping it polished myself so lets hope the patina returns soon !

That is a sharp looking grouping. Well done.

I regret that I have no direct provenance on the KC. It is a lightly used Steinhauer & Luck piece marked under the reverse loop 4 & 800. The loop itself is marked 935.

If this is a small offering, then what do you call a big one? Outstanding displayI'm still forlornly hoping that the goblet awarded to my uncle, Hauptmann Dr. Albrecht Ochs, in October 1940 will one day resurface.
