    No room for my collection

    Hi!

Saw all these wonderfull displays, cabinets, bunkers and war-rooms for your collections and yes, I´m jealous

Have to place my helmets in the garage beside the old snow tyres and my medals and awards in some dirty drawers in our cellar.............

Sometimes I open one of the drawers (see pic below) and, yes I´m happy again

Sure, the day will come and I´ll get my own display-room

    Happy collecting

    Gerd

      Nice Pic, Gerd

I feel your pain - I live in a small apartment in Brooklyn with my wife. No collection room for me - everything is packed away. I often think about the fact that I have never seen my entire collection together at one time. Maybe someday...

I'm not saying that I don't believe you or anything like that, but I find it hard to believe that you just keep these items in an old cabinet in the attic.

Can I get a red pen thrown in the photo that you took for us? From what I can tell, that knight's cross is pretty valuable.
I will give you a if you take a photo like the one you supplied to us and put a red pen in the background. You can after the picture taking, give me a for not trusting you 100% on this one. If I was in your shoes, I would never keep me collection like that, no matter how much room I lacked.

        Lets see that picture!

Sorry I have no red pen But I made a new pic and specifically for you: I throw a little "mouse" in all this iron.

            Brian!

Yes, it´s a pity, sure we have some nice items, but no way for a reasonable display.

OK, the story with the cold and damp cellar was a little bit overplayed (so called metaphor) my items are in different kind of boxes scattered to the four corners of our house.

            Regards

            Gerd

LOL. Thank-you for setting me straight. I will give you the on that one.

Am I to believe that you just keep these medals scattered around in a box? Maybe you should sell one of them and invest in some kind of storage cases or boxes or frames. I know the room is lacking, but to have them unprotected like that is a crime.

BTW, very nice collection and the mouse is looking good as well. Thanks for the laugh. You might also want to purchase a mouse trap

Don´t worry! Most of my items are cased and for the other awards I use wood boxes (Göde for medals like you can see on the next pics), so nothing will happen.

The first two pics are only for fun, nothing more.

                Regards

                Gerd

                            Thank you guys!

Will show you some more items. My helmet collection is not that big at the moment....sold most to fellow collectors round the world in the last 2 years. So only a few M35DD are left, but I started new with FJ ones

My special field of interest is the history of the Thofern family and the Truppenlager Gross Born. 3 members were decades in service and high rank officers (Major/Oberltn./Generalltn.). I´m proud to own most of family items (awards/docs), but there is still more out there!

By the way: Who is the owner of knightcross doc. group from Werner Thofern??? Surch for this collector (dead or alive )!!!!!!!!!! He is maybe located in Germany.

Please take a look at some Groß Born and Thofern related items from my collection.

                            Regards

                            Gerd
