I have an AB64 to a RSM in the Paras who appears to have been in the Provost section. I can see from him AB64 that he did infact do both Commando and SAS Courses after he earned his wings. Would this be common practice ?

brooksbz - Beadle Austin, Mennem and possibly Brown were all Normandy Airborne but not sure if they were D-Day or later (just missed out on another one last week)

Waffen44 - that sounds a cracking book - almost seems a bit over the top training wise. I messaged you on another forum about one of your Airborne groups to someone local to me

I collect German D-Day Soldbuchs and British Airborne. I really enjoy the British Paybooks. I wish there were more examples posted.

Did you see the one here?

It was on Ebay a few weeks ago - I had a good go, but not good enough - do you know how much it was on the website for?

I believe it was a bit less than 1000 BPS. True German D-Day Soldbuchs go for 2000 euro. SS Normandy Soldbuchs go for the same price. It is all very expensive.

7015948 Henry Orlando RIDGLEY - a member of the Signal Corps, but in the photo he has a Para Badge - I think he was granted his wings May 44

Wow! Another nice one. A lot of Airborne signals appear to be wearing Parachute Regiment cap badges in period photos.
