Civilain Police and Prison Chaplains is also a calling perhaps...
Regarding rank...My CGSC paper argued that Chaplains shouldn't have rank. I used Chaplains on the eastern front as my example. Many stopped the killing of jews yet they had no rank but moral courage.

Here is a 1st Armored Patch with a cross instead of a 1. I attended seminary with the chaplains son. His dad was a joe in Korea and a chaplain in Vietnam.

I agree with you, Chaplains have their own standing. Personally I have always felt that rank does not aid you in helping others to reach out to the Lord or spreading the Gospel.

I have seen incidents where Chaplains have actually alluded to their rank when dealing with an Officer. Certainly would not instill any confidence in me to share what was troubling me.

You can have an assimilated rank for administrative purposes, but it does not need to be advertised.

          Best wishes & God Bless,
          Andrew

A few months ago, a very good friend passed away. Chaplain H. Dale Small. He was with the 4th & 8th Armored Division and the 94th Infantry. While he was alive, he gave me his photo album, id card, overseas cap, communion kit and a number of other items.

Since his passing, the family passed along his Class A and Ike, his geneva convention card and his diary during the war.
In my collection you will see the earlier stuff earlier in the thread, and new pics at the end of the forum.

I wish he was still around to enjoy his stuff

A special thanks to forum member Dennis White who gave me these two Bible. One is a metal cover Bible. The other is a Gideon Bible with the flag on the front.

Thank you Dennis. A great example of the great people on this forum.
