        hy,
the st. georg cross is an imperial russian award, awarded to russian and also foreign soldiers (bravty award), its the 4th class, the only one below is the medal.

the ek1 - sorry, not my area - but i think you can get comments from other forum members.

the silver medal beside the widows cross is the württembergische silberne tapferkeitsmedaille / württembergian silver bravety medal.

i've seen, that you are from stuttgart, if you come to the ISA (see the shows and local chapers forum - stuttgart thread), i can bring you a long but well reserached articel about the russian st georg crosses which were awarded to german soldiers.

It is very interesting. Nice St. George Cross. This one a variation for enlisted of lower 4 class. Ones I have seen a curious German medal bar, where was 2nd class EK 1914 and ST. George cross for enlisted of 4 class together. Such combination is very curios because both awards are combat of countries which was in war. And until this day I dont know how recipient can get such combination of awards. I send you the image of my Grandfathers medal bar with 4 class ST. Georg cross.

the St. George cross was popular for Russians because it exempted them from being beaten by officers-Rick Lundstrom can tell you much more about Russian awards to imperial Germans. Post it in imperial.
