    Question on displaying EK2s

I just wonder if most people leave an original salty ribbon on a nice EK2 or put a new one on for display purposes.

Keep it real Bernie..... i find longer ribbons differcult to display but it the ribbon has character i will leave them on.

If its an unissued ribbon i take them off and having no ribbons on makes it easier to display for me anyway

I guess it depends on the condition of the EK2? If it was a worn cross, i'd pair it with a salty ribbon and a fresh ribbon would match well with a mint cross. Personal preference i guess!

For my display I use Mint ribbons, but I keep the original in a bag marked with which cross it goes to.

              Hi Jay,
I've said it before, your labels are great. I've always wanted to do this with my EK's, but could never get it right. You must tell me how to do this.

Bernie - the way that you will display your EK's depends only of your imagination.

Every collector have his unique conceptions.
                    This is mine for example:

I display mine in a shoebox inside a safe .

I always keep the original ribbons on, unless I think it has been replaced by someone else, in which case I try to find a ribbon that matches the condition of the cross. I always try to match condition from ribbon to cross, and I have no crosses without ribbons, which is a very difficult proposition indeed when you collect 1914 EKs.
                      Best regards,

Most of our stuff is "displayed" in that way I think... there's always inadequately of free space

Very nice showing, but what is the point of replacing original ribbons for showing with mint ribbons ? In my opinion it has more character with intact ribbons.

                          :- )

                            One of my favorites.

Very short , fragile, blood stained ribbon.

Why would I want to change it?

I'm the odd man out - I don't care for ribbons, I pack mine away and display the medals sans ribbon.
