My collection as of 10 Mar 04

Greetings to all. Finally paid my dues, and would like to show you all my humble collection. No RK's yet, no DKiG's. Still sort of feeling my way around, to see what I want to concentrate on.
Any feedback appreciated, closeups available gladly on request.

First, a nice Kriegsmarine grouping. Sailor stationed in the Mediterranean, awarded Kreta title. See more details in the "documents" section

Next, a group including EK2, gold wound, and IAB

An array of medals and awards. The dagger was found here in Germany when a man re-roofed his house.

Documents, lower three rows are each individual awardees (that is, each row a different person), top row are single, non-group awards.

More documents. I think I favor those.

    couple more pix

    Non-military documents

My very latest purchase, 8 Wochenspruch der NS***

Last and definitely least, an Urkunde I'm 99% certain is fake. But interesting.

      Nice collection!

I'm a big fan of paper stuff as well, but it's so hard to come by. I could be happy simply collecting pictures sometimes. I was wondering, in your case of medals there almost appears to be the Star of David in the left third, what is that piece? I love your crosses and the documents are great, good way to store them too, in those plastic sleeves. Finally, I think that's great you found the dagger in a roof. When a friend of mine moved into his new house, they were re-insulating the attic and they found a heavy leather bundle tied shut. He opened it and found a .45 that had belonged to the previous vet/owner. Those are the finds we all wish there were more of. Great collection and take care.]

Will do when I get home tonight. I can't say if it's an official award case, or more likely just something the original owner thought it looked good in. But the award was always in it, to the best of my knowledge.

Zack - I'll post a pic of that also. It is a star of David, I actually got it from the same guy I got the cased KVK 2 from. No history on it, but it's from the 3rd Reich era.

                Hi,

The 8 Wochenspruch der NS are particularly attractive! I love the font and the colour.

I love Wochensprüche; they always have beautiful designs but I never see too many of them around. Very nice paper collection, with an equally impressive badges and medals section!

                        Here's the cased KVK 2

Here are a few pix of the KVK 2 in it's case. Don't know if it's original issue but: Enjoy!

                            Hank,

It looks like a private purchase case, not that far off a PP style of case for the '14-'18 Cross (I think it is). I'm sure these cases were 'generic' so to speak and could be purchased from an outlet and used for a multitude of awards.

I have one almost the same, colour etc for the Honour Cross but with the inscription on the lid inner.

                            Kind regards,

                            Marcus
