I thought I would share an example of how I like to arrange my medals and frame them.

Here are a few, some complete, some under construction. I really enjoy putting the artifacts together in a way that tells a story. This one represents a later war u-boat scenario. Zinc spange, zink u-boat badge (albiet a nicely plated one), 9th flotilla tradition badge, and a very cool color period postcard.

I am very pleased with how the groupings have been coming out in the frames. Once I have a nice grouping together, I take it down to my favotite framing store where I have someone help me pick out a nice mat (some are linen, some are a velour type of finish), a nice wooden filit, and then a frame to go with them. I have attempted to put them in a "time line" of sorts using more elabotate frames for the older "stories" and simpler frames toward the end of the war. I have really had a great time working them up. The frames and mats (I put the medals in my self to save a few $$) almost always exceed $100. But I think their worth it.

Glad I could share my enjoyment

                      Best regards,
                      Terrence

                        Hi.

Can you tell me where you get those frames with the matted area?.. When i do that they look all squashed, are they shadow frames?.

Oppss no matter.. you wrote about them ...

                        Many thanks

The map in the large frame in the last pic (frame under construction) is out of a U.S. history book printed in 1914. The map is labeled "Modern Germany." It shows germany at its peak. Ironic I thought. I am in the process of surrounding the map with IC 1st and 2nd class for each of the kingdoms and principalities. Not an easy task.

                          just a note...
                          regards,
                          T
