Gloves on uniform

Hey guys!

There's a East German Luftstreitkräfte Musikkorps uniform on it's way to me, but I have a question on how to display the white gloves which go with it; how can I get them in place as realistic as possible (just like there's a real hand in it) on a buste?

This is in definition a WW2 German forum, there are not a lot of DDR collectors who would look in this section I suppose.
You have probably more luck on a DDR forum?

It wasn't really specifically for a DDR-uniform, but for uniforms in total.

But never mind, I'll give it a try somewhere else!

Hi Jan!

I thought that a way would be stuffing the gloves so that they would "fill" the cuffs, but that would look pretty ugly I guess and maybe deform the gloves in the long run. That's what I do with gaiters, stuffing the trousers so that they can stay in place, but that looks better, since gaiters were there to tighten the trousers, while cuffs are normally wider than wrists.

Holding them in place with some needles could be a solution, but then again you would have an empty glove hanging from an empty cuff and it's something I wouldn't do, taking the aspect of conservation into account...

I usually display gloves tucked under a belt. Pretty convenient for a soldier to do it and it looks better in terms of display IMO!
