    My New War Room

Well, in fooling around some more with the computer, I think I may have gotten this thing to work, I dont really know why though . Oh well, what I wouldn't give to have been born Amish. Anyhow, here are some shots of my war room. My wife and I just moved to San Angelo Texas, and I finally have a room all to myself. What do you think?

      More.

I know that it is not the type of tunic that yall are used to looking at, but it is an authentic homemade Confederate officers tunic.

        The Cream of My Library

Alas, there was not room for all of my books, so I had to choose my favorites, the rest are in storage. I tell you, there is nothing nicer that a glass of bold red wine, a good book, and a comfy chair in the war room

          Last One

I have already posted photos of the cases of Iron Crosses and other medals. However, I would be happy to post closeups of anything that anyone is interested in.

"Homemade" tunic by whom? Back then, or for reenacting?

              Not Sure

I am not completely certain if the tunic is an actual Civil War relic or not. It was given to me by an older lady back home. Her grandfather had served in a local Confederate infantry unit. She came across the tunic while cleaning out an old smoke house that had been converted for storage purposes. The tunic is in excellent shape, does appear to have been hand stitched, and has some soiling about it. The lady had no idea it was even there so could offer no explanation. I assume that it is either an authentic uniform, or a very old tailor made tunic used for United Confederate Veterans reunions that were so numerous at the turn of the century.

Great war room! I like to see someone else who mixes War Between the States stuff and WWII stuff.

                Regards,

                  Thanks

I focus on Iron Crosses now, but I can't bring myself to part with some of the other items that I have collected over the years, so it all sort of gets thrown together.

Signs of a collector with good taste

                    EKman,

I enjoyed viewing you collection ...also couldn't help but notice the Crown Royal too. Try the C/R "Special Reserve" if you can find it.....very smooooth.

EKman.. Great war room ! I also appreciate your Confederate items as I'm an unreconstructed Reb myself. I too mix 20th & 19th century items in my "room" & it works out pretty good. Since we live relatively close, we ought to make contact. Not too many militaria collectors out here in the boonies!

Focusing on EKs is a positive thing itself, but not being able to sell stuff you previously collected is a sign of a true collector. Looks great!
