here are new pics from the helmet ,the cover is so fragille and thin that it ruptures verry fast (as you can see on the inside of the helmet) . it has no reverse collor in white ,just the mirror printing from the outside . there is a cord-like strap that goes arround the whole cover to secure it under the rimm .

hi ,the trailer is something special . i faund it in a barn abouth two years ago ,it was left behind in september '44 in the region of the city Ghent .
the farmer used it to transport his milkcans in the late '40s and '50s until it was not usable anymore .
it was in a terrible state when i discovered it under a huge pile of rubble .
i can't find anny info on it ,i believe it is something that was produced in the field by the regimental blacksmith . i tried to restore it in a believable state .
i show you pictures from before and after .

Super collection. I can only dream of finding lots of stuff in the local area (farmers, attics, etc). I live in Holland near the sea. A lot of bunkers can be found but they are all emty .

A lot of your stuff must have great story's (like the finding of the transportwagon). If you have more interesting storys about some of your objects please share them with us.

most special story

hi ,thank you for your kind words !
i have indeed lots of individual story's with some items ,but the most special is the one with the "polish" german helmet i believe...
this helmet turned up after the funeral from an old polish man in a nearby town .
the widdow told me that he fought in the german army (first he was in the RAD) but "turned his flag" when they send him to warsaw for the uprising . he painted his helmet black with the polish collors around the crown ,later he overpainted the collors and chose to ad a small polish flag on the left side (for camouflage reasons i think) . he survived the uprising and was able to escape to the allied troops ,he served there under the brittish army and helped to liberate europe .
after the war he went back to poland and lived there with his family until he came to belgium in the '80s to live with another woman .
he now is buried on the military section of the graveyeard in his belgian town .
the widdow gave me his helmet ,map case and lots of pictures .
this is the strangest gift i reseved in all those years ,an original warsaw-uprising helmet is almost not to find ,and i even know who was the owner and have pictures of him...
