Robb's point earlier about whether any of these came back from Aussie vets raises an interesting question for me. Have you Craig, or any other Australian for that matter, had any luck in purchasing foreign militaria locally? With the exception of Kevin Sienkiewicz and other Aussies on the e-stand, most of our purchases seem to come from overseas. Has anyone had any experiences of items coming 'out of the woodwork' or 'straight from a vet's family', as our American and European friends so often have?

No mate not from a vet himself, like our esteemed collegues do, I think as you know We ( Aussies ) only fought the Germans in the Middle East & Crete, before getting pulled back & being sent to New Guniea, we werent there at the end as we were stuck out on Borneo & other backwater campaigns thanks to General Dip$hit Macarthur. I know my grandfather had some Japanese items but as for the European type theatre I havent come across any from vets themselves. That aside as I stated most of my early buys were from local collectors but again they had got stuff from the US & Germany not locally. The Kiwis on the other hand didnt get called back so maybe for them they have the ability to get from vets I dont know but perhaps they can answer ?

Also locally their was PR COLEMAN Militaria I did purchase an infantry assault badge from him awhile ago whatever happened to him ?

I know what you mean, I bought an armband from PR Coleman before, however his website seems to have disappeared. I think at one stage they were changing servers, however that was months ago. Maybe they've stopped selling.
