A lovely display, nice bookshelves and display cabinets. Incidentally as a father of a two year old, how do you keep the kids out? And how did you convince your wife that the room wouldn't be better used as a play room, utility room etc

Hey Jim,
thank you. How you doing? I've added a few pieces over the years. Of course not nearly on the scale you rake the stuff in.
NY s pretty nice.Reminds us a lot of Europe. Plus we're closer to the big shows. I think I'll finally be able to make some of the MAX and SOS ones.
I have Scotts series on GD. Considering how much GD stuff he has, I was surprised how much of my small GD collection made it in.
You take care and keep in touch.Jim and Deb

How do you like NY? A lot of your "GD" items are nicely detailed in a recent reference book series which has come out!
all the best from Deutschland,

Actually our 3 kids all have four feet and meow a lot. So they aren't a problem. They love the collection and never disturb anything. My wife Deb is my biggest supporter of my collecting addiction. When we went house hunting she told our realtor that there had to be an area large enough for my collection. Shes a gem.

Hey Jim,
Glad you found time to post some pics of your new collection room and it looks Great!! Of course your collection always looked great in Germany, San Antonio (twice), Hereford AZ (twice) and now its present location. Did you ever get that opportunity for a personal tour of the West Point Museum? For those who don't know that is why Jim and Deb moved to New York State....Deb got a job at West Point so Jim has been itching to Fondle the Hermann Meier wedding sword and various other juicy bits and pieces!! One day I will be able to set-up my little museum once more! This time I will have two DKW motorcycles and hopefully my dream machine...a Kettenkrad but I might have to get a bigger house in Texas!!

Bill, I think you are right about that but you will need lots of space!! I just have to think of your huge ammunition box collection which fills one room to name but a small portion!
Jim, Scotts' book came out really well and he has really a lot of your GD items in it, but of course you have been collecting GD for a very long time!
good hunting!

Bill,
Thanks. Its getting there. I've been so busy doing chores that I haven't thought about the WP Museum. I just got the final edits for the book so it looks like it will be IN PRINT in a few weeks or months.
Little collection my ass, ha,ha. Your going to need a lot more room to display everything. Maybe a warehouse.Jim, Deb and Burritos

Hey Jim,
Well I guess priority went to searching for a new home for the wife, kitties and your collection (in that order) !!.
Great! I will certainly like to pick a copy up as I know it is very detailed about German Rations and stuff (got the pleasure of reading the draft)...with a few of my pics as well.
I suppose you may be right...considering most of my collection is sitting in storage at two different locations back in Texas! The biggest and largest part is actually being stored in a Warehouse. I guess I need to hit the LOTTO so I can buy a bigger house!!
