    My wee collection

Forgive me fellows, but I have never tried to attach photos before, this is my favorite forum as I love to look at other gents collections. Now, I would like to let my small (but growing) collection be seen.
    Thanks

Well fellas, here is what the computer told me...
"File Too Large. Limit for this filetype is 317.2 KB. Your file is 1.41 MB. "

I dont know how to make the picture smaller so that it can be placed on the site? It is saved in the "My Pictures" section of my computer having been downloaded from my digital camera. Perhaps some of you have encountered this problem before and can lend me some advice.
Interested in candid/private Hitler, KIA, and Holocaust photos. Also any AH related memorabilia--silverware, linen, crystal, china...
    All the best,
    Chris

Almost all photo editing programs resize pics. Open up the pic using MS photo editor (or whatever you have on your machine) and under the edit tab at the top you will find the resize button. Not all programs have this under edit but if you look around you should find it.

Your camera should have come with some kind of software as well, but if not, there are some great free programs on the internet if you do not have one on your machine just type in photo editing software into google and you will find some.

      Another Approach

Forgive me for not being very computer literate. I tried to resize my photos but could not figure out how. However, I have noticed that some folks have links to their photos. How is this accomplished? Is there a web site out there to which you can upload your photos and then simply attach the web address for others to visit? If so, could someone please tip me off on how to use this.
      Thanks

        Sizing

        EK

learning to resize & post can be frustrating at first, go to testing & tech.
forum, page 2 , post by Sthornton, there is link to sizing software. It
worked OK for me after playing with it & test posting for a while.

Get Irfan View. A free, light, easy to use program. You'll love it if you try it. As said, it is absolutely free.
just open the file with it and hit Ctrl R /or select Resize from the menu/. Then you can change the sizee of the image /because if I remember right the forum allows only 700 x 700 pixels pictures/.
And another nice feature of the IrfanView - somehow it reduces the filesize. I mean the filesize in Kb. If an image is for example 260 Kb and sized 700x 700, you just open it, resize it to 700 x 700 /yes, keep the same size/ and save the "changes", the image size in pixels as said remains the same, 700 X 700, but the filesize drops down to 40 or 50 Kb with no noticeable decrease in quality. /well, for sure something in the quality must be disappearing, but this is important for printing pictures, for showqing pctures in a forum it is all unimportant /

actul the easyiest way to resize pics is to use paint belive it or not!!! just right click and then click the edit option and it will open in paint then go to the image option on the toolbar and then do strech and skew! then instead of 100 put 75 in both boxs! its works grand for me all the time!! just remember to save it as something different or orginal will be small! hope this helps!!

                    Here's another

Both of these pieces came from a local veteran. The luger at the top was taken out of a burned out German tank in France. The walther was taken off of a German officer. For the Walther, I also have the holster and extra clip. Of course, the luger is in very poor condition, but I like the story that it came with.

                      Some Knights Cross Winner

Here are sigs from some Knights Cross Winners. They are not too rare but I think they look nice framed up. And no, sorry to say that the Knights Cross at the top is not orriginal (How I wish that it was!) It is a cheap immitation that is just there for looks until I can talk my wife into letting me buy the real thing! Haha.

                              Feldwebel Dietrich Weinitschke

Sorry, but I seem to be having trouble uploading photos onto the Forum this evening. I will try again tomorrow.
